Sixpenny

Foolscap transformed Sixpenny to celebrate Australia’s heritage; creating a refined yet relaxed environment for lunchtime and post-work dining. The interior was stripped back to reveal original floorboards and a fireplace, recapturing the site’s defining features.

Working entirely with local materials and collaborators, Foolscap commissioned Bendigo Pottery to produce hand-thrown, hand-painted ceramic wall sconces and pendants, while handcrafted spotted gum tables and olive-green acoustic panels in 100% Australian wool add warmth to the restrained scheme.

A large glazed panel reveals the kitchen, allowing diners to engage with the seasonal degustation menu as it is prepared from locally grown produce. Sixpenny’s design reflects its distinctly Australian DNA: elegant, refined, and personal; making extraordinary culinary experiences approachable.

A solid timber dining table and chairs sits in front of green upholstered walls and custom ceramic wall lights at Sixpenny, a locals' favourite restaurant in Sydney - designed by Foolscap.
