The Cloud

Foolscap created The Cloud as a safe space for idea generation and a welcoming haven away from home. It combines creative studio work with product design, hospitality, and wellness, building on lessons from co-working platforms to push the potential of holistically productive workspaces.

Drawing from placemaking, hospitality, and residential design, the space feels relaxed, inviting, and convivial. The seven-metre-long fully equipped kitchen sits at the heart of The Cloud, acting as a ‘front of house’, natural gathering area, and flexible setting for meetings and events.

The design employs a neutral palette to showcase creativity, while retaining elements of Foolscap’s identity. Moveable greenery is custom-designed trays and light curtains create partitions without compromising openness. House-like structures enclose a flexible meeting room and the materials library. Warm and cool materials balance comfort, with spotted gum joinery repurposed from the Noma Australia pop-up and natural fibre carpets complementing original hardwood flooring.

Locally and sustainably sourced products and materials reinforce the ethos of openness, welcoming the broader industry to participate and contribute to the space.
